The Adventure

Life has been busy at my house these days. School days, soccer games, birthday parties, work, homework, photography sessions, editing....Before I know it another day, week, month has passed. My baby is turning into a toddler, my toddler into a big kid, and my little girl into a school kid. It's so easy to get caught up in the every day routine of it all, and miss out on the beautiful little moments that I used to be so good at seeing.
Having kids has taught me a whole new way of seeing the world. Even the simplest objects can be full of wonder and mystery. A small grove of trees can provide a grand adventure. Rocks, sticks and bugs become the greatest treasures.
Becoming a photographer has also changed my views. The world is certainly more beautiful when looked upon through the viewfinder. You learn to find the beauty in everything. The lone barn in the middle of the pasture, the abandoned building you drive past daily. You notice the way the fading fall sunset lights up the tall grass.
It was this way of seeing that I had been missing, and so we set out on an adventure. With my camera slung around my neck, kids in tow, and my mom along for assistance, we started to explore.
There were fields to walk through,

gates to climb,

and places to stop and rest along the way.

We found lots of bugs,

and logs for climbing.

We were all a little sad for the day to end,

but overall, it was a grand adventure.

Sneak Peek {Silver Creek, NE Senior Photographer}

I am a day late on my sneak peek this time. My computer revolted after the busy weekend I had, so I apologize. I took the short drive to Silver Creek yesterday to meet up with this senior at his family's acreage. There were all sorts of neat places to discover, and Jason did a great job helping me find the perfect locations. I hope you enjoy your pictures, and I should have your gallery completed by the end of the week.

Sneak Peek {Columbus, NE Newborn Photographer}

I had the pleasure of spending the afternoon with tiny Miss A and her parents today. This little sweetie was 3 weeks old already and had her own agenda. She didn't like most of my plans so we just went with the flow. I am pleased with the way things turned out, and hope you are too!

...True Love...{Columbus, NE Children Photographer}

While I was prepping for a session last week, my daughter asked if I could take a few pictures of her. Since this happens so rarely, I jumped at the chance. Imagine my surprise when the boys wanted in on the action too. Not only that, but I got full cooperation, eye contact, and even a few smiles. I will admit though, that the silly face shots are my favorites. They are just so...them. Man I love these kids.

Sneak Peek...pt. 2 {Columbus, NE Child Photographer}

This is the second half of last night's session. We hit the studio for a cake smash with the absolutely adorable Miss D, and her big sisters hopped in front of the camera for a few as well.

These girls are so sweet with each other. They seem more like best friends than siblings.

Sneak Peek for Amber {Columbus, NE Child Photographer}

The summer has come to a close, and with summer also goes the long summer evenings. Luckily the sun held out just long enough for us to squeeze in a session with these fabulous girls. They are all so stinkin' cute, and were very cooperative. This was actually a two-part shoot, but you will have to wait until tomorrow to see the second half. Hope you like them!
